This is a gopher client for GNU emacs.
Gopher is a world-wide document retrieval and information delivery service.
(See the comp.infosystems.gopher FAQ for more information.)
It presently supports directory, text, index, telnet, and CSO phonebook
objects. Other object types can be downloaded as binary files, but
not viewed from within emacs.

Operating instructions are contained in the header comments;
in brief, load this file and do `M-x gopher'. You'll also need
to have forms.el and background.el (available at an emacs-lisp
archive site near you).

If gopher consistently hangs while trying to read data from a server,
try setting gopher-buggy-accept to non-nil. I've observed this problem
on a SGI Iris; it may be present on other systems as well.

Feedback, corrections, and additions are welcome...

enjoy!
