With this program in your AUTOEXEC.BAT you will never forget any important anniversaries. It will remember you about every anniversary, birthday, marriage day, etc. when you boot your computer. This application is Shareware. I use it for myself and I do not have any problems with it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ How to install REMEMBER: -> Do not do it under Microsoft WINDOWS (TM) <- 1. Copy the file REMEMBER.EXE into your "C:\DOS" directory: COPY REMEMBER.EXE C:\DOS 2. Edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT and add the following line at the end of the file: REMEMBER c 3. Save your new AUTOEXEC.BAT and reboot your computer. Make sure that you had saved all data you used in other programs! 4. You will get an error message which tells you that the datafile could not be found. Ignore it by the first time. Now you can start REMEMBER with the 'e' option to create your datafile. (see next page for details) 5. Make sure that your datafile is placed in the same directory as REMEMBER.EXE and that the command path points at the DOS directory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ How to use REMEMBER: To start remember in the editormode please type at the DOS-prompt: REMEMBER e The menu of REMEMBER will appear on the screen. You can choose one of the following functions: '1' - show all the dates. There are: x of 10 You will get a list of all dates you had entered up to now. Instead of the x you can see the number of dates. If you want delete a date please notice the number of this date. If there are 0 used no list will be shown of course. '2' - input a new date. If you already had reached the maximum of dates you can not save another one. You can delete dates you need no longer to get space again. In this Shareware version the maximum capacity is limited to 10 dates. Please register and I will send you a fullversion with space for 500 dates. (see previous pages for details) If there is enough space you can input a new date. First type the name of the person. Then you can type the occasion why you want to remember to that date. There is a limit of 25 Characters for name and occasion each. Now type the date. First enter the month, then the day and at last the year. Now the date is stored in memory but do not forget to save your datafile when you exit REMEMBER. '3' - delete a date. With this function you can delete a date that you need no longer. Please type the number of the date you had seen in the list of all dates. (Menupoint one). The date will shown again and the computer ask you to confirm. Press "y" to delete or "n" to exit without deleting. '4' - about REMEMBER... If you chose this you will see this text. You can also see it when you type REMEMBER ? at the DOS-prompt. '0' - exit REMEMBER, save your dates. Press the '0'-Key and you will leave REMEMBER and return to the DOS-prompt. If you had added or deleted a date your computer will ask you if you want to save the chances. Type 'y' to save or 'n' to discard. Enjoy!
