ModemLockDown

As the Internet Supervisor, you have the ultimate say to when access the World Wide Web can and cannot be established.

Discreetly running in the background, ModemLockDown disables all modems without the need for other hardware components, physical keys, or even removing the modem.



Installation
------------

NOTE: 
1. The installation and setup of ModemLockDown can only be performed by a Windows user account with Administrative priviledges.
2. During the installation process, some anti-virus/firewall applications may detect ModemLockDown being installed and attempt to intercept it. This is a normal situation and it is required that this interception be ignored and the detecting program be put into 'installation mode' or similar where applicable.


1. Install ModemLockDown by running ModemLockDown_Setup.exe from downloaded zip file
2. Administration screen - Enter a password & confirmation for Administration access
3. Administration screen - Enter a password & confirmation for modem Unlocking (use of a different one to the administration password is recommended)
4. Press the OK button.
4. Obtain your registration details from http://modemlockdown.techconz.com and register ModemLockDown via the registration tab in the administration screen.

TechcoNZ Ltd. assumes no responsibility and/or liability for data loss or any other failure or problem as a result of the use of this program and/or files accompaning it. Although considerable time and effort has been spent ensuring that ModemLockDown and its related components are reliable and safe, this software is to be used at your own risk. 

You may not re-sell this product in any way, shape or form. It also may not be used for commercial purposes without written and signed consent from TechcoNZ Ltd, prior to its use. You may not reverse engineer, de-compile, modify or change ModemLockDown in any way. The source code and the resulting application is owned solely by TechcoNZ Ltd.

You are responsible for your own backup of your system. You should also check your system for viruses before attempting to install this product on your hard drive.

ModemLockDown is Trialware and can be used for up to 30 days free of charge. Past this point ModemLockDown will remain installed though will not provide any modem locking functionality. To restore/continue this functionality, ModemLockDown must be purchased and the registration details entered into the application. Registering gives you a license for use on only one workstation at a time. A  purchase of this product is done through the website below. As the trial period is effectively a try before you buy time, TechcoNZ Ltd. does not have a refund policy on this product.

Issues with the 'Windows XP' display theme causes both the Administration and Unlock screens not to appear. However, under the 'Windows Classic' display theme ModemLockDown functions correctly. As of version 1.33, both display options work correctly.

Under some conditions, ModemLockDown would be shutdown before other applications. This could potentially lead to an un-secure internet connection. As of version 1.32 (April 9), ModemLockDown is the last application to be closed.
